Gaza – Save Youth Future Society (SYFS) continues its efforts to strengthen the safety and quality of healthcare services by conducting a series of specialized training sessions under the project “Strengthening the Safety and Resilience of Healthcare Facilities through Targeted Interventions in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Infection Prevention and Control, and Medical Waste Management,” in partnership with Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).

The project aims to strengthen the safety of healthcare facilities and improve Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) services, while enhancing infection prevention and control practices and promoting proper medical waste management. These efforts contribute to reducing infection risks and creating safer and healthier environments for patients and healthcare workers.

The project aims to train 320 medical and healthcare facility workers through specialized training pathways focusing on practices and procedures related to water, sanitation, and hygiene services within healthcare facilities, as well as the safe management of medical waste and the reduction of associated risks.

The training sessions also contribute to strengthening the capacities of healthcare workers and enhancing their knowledge and skills in applying health and infection prevention measures. This supports the continuity and quality of healthcare services while promoting safer practices, particularly amid the challenges facing healthcare facilities.

The implementation of this project is part of Save Youth Future Society’s broader efforts to support the healthcare sector and strengthen the capacity of medical facilities to provide safer and higher-quality services.

Through investing in healthcare workers’ capacities and improving practices related to water, sanitation and hygiene, infection prevention and control, and medical waste management, the project contributes to creating safer healthcare environments and strengthening the resilience of health services.
